How to share a library of back issues of your past Mailchimp emails
If you have a look at this link, you can see a library to back issues of previous Mailchimp emails I’ve sent out - not all of them, just the ones I’ve chosen to share access to. I get asked about how to do this fairly regularly, so here’s how.
Step 1 - Put the campaigns you want in your back issues library in a specific folder. Here’s how…
Go to Campaigns in the left hand menu
Select the campaigns you want to include using the tick boxes on the left.
Once you’ve ticked at least one, an option will appear on the top right saying “Move to v”. Click on that and then “+ Create new”
Once you’ve added any campaigns (emails) into a folder, you’ll see your the screen change slightly and show which folder (if any) a campaign is in, like this:
Step 2 - modify the archive to only show emails in that folder rather than all past emails:
Go into “Forms” on the left hand menu, and into “Other forms”. Scroll all the way down to the last option called “Form builder” and click on the Manage forms link in that box.
Right under the page heading Form builder, you’ll see a drop down which starts with the words “Signup form”. Click on the arrow alongside and scroll down the list to “Campaign archive page” (under “Other Bits”) and click on it:
Then tick the box that says “Only show campaigns in a specific folder” and select the folder you’ve created from the dropdown that appears.
Step 3 - get the link to your back-issues archive
Just below you’ll see a field with your Campaign archive page URL - that’s what you share. I’d suggest copying and pasting it into your browser, then bookmarking that page for future reference.
Step 4 - make your back issues archive page look good
Depending on whether you already have any styling to your functional forms (like unsubscribe), your archive page may vary between really plain and designed but needing some extra text changes to make it work harder. For example…
You can use the “Design it” tab to add your logo, brand colours and wording above the archive. The button wording needs to be modified under “Translate it”:
And that my friend…. is that… You can now add that URL that you bookmarked earlier into emails, your welcome automation, share it on social etc. so that people can read your the archive of back-issues that you would like to share with them.
